Meet The Team

Brad graduated from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a B.A. in Economics. Previously, he worked as a Financial Advisor and Director of Operations, where he managed private clients and while overseeing firm operations and technology integration.

Brad’s expertise extends to supporting Financial Advisors, providing guidance on client management and technology solutions. He has facilitated the seamless transition of over $130 million in AUM for advisors onto other firm platforms, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Additionally, he has served on investment, operations, and compliance committees in prior positions, contributing valuable insights to industry best practices.

Dedicated to fostering an environment where both clients and advisors can thrive, Brad is committed to adapting AFM’s strategies to meet the evolving challenges of the financial landscape.

Outside of work, Brad enjoys golfing and cheering on the Ravens. He is also excited to give back to his alma mater, Jemicy School, by supporting alumni relations initiatives.

Richard Dobson Jr., CFP®, began working as a career financial services professional and personal financial advisor as a college senior in June 1980. With extensive experience in the industry, Richard is a former FINRA Broker/Dealer Chief Compliance Officer, holding FINRA Series 6, 26, 27, 51, 63, and 65 qualifications. He has also served as an officer and President of an SEC-registered investment Advisory Firm.

Beyond his professional roles, Richard is the past President of the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation, a global charity driving positive change worldwide. He is also an accomplished author of several books on client communication and an international keynote speaker.

Richard resides in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he enjoys hiking, cycling, and staying active in his local community.

Cathy brings a wealth of experience to AFM. With over 25 years as a Medical Practice Manager and Office Administrator, she successfully transitioned to a new career path prior to COVID-19, serving as an HR Manager and Assistant to the Director of Operations. Cathy joins AFM with extensive expertise in customer service and a strong understanding of 401(k) plans. She is committed to supporting AFM’s mission of creating an environment where clients and advisors can thrive in an ever-changing financial landscape.

Outside of work, Cathy is a proud mom of two and enjoys spending quality time with her family.
